Patricia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in strength-based psychotherapy services from a positive psychology perspective. Her expertise over the past 30 years has been in treating children, adolescents, and families. She spent many years providing services at mental health agencies including Child and Adolescent Treatment Services, a nonprofit outpatient mental health agency in Erie County, gaining skills and experience as a child/ adolescent/ family therapist, as an administrator, in program development, and clinical supervisor. As an adjunct professor, she taught graduate courses at Medaille College, Buffalo, NY in their Mental Health Counseling department. Establishing her private practice in 2001, Patricia very much enjoys working with adults as much as she enjoys working with children, teens and families.
Born an identical twin and sharing the middle child birth order of 4 girls, Patricia grew up with the innate inclination toward seeing all sides of a situation with compromise and empathy. She was raised in a Buffalo suburb in a family with a love of the outdoors, so in her free time she spent hours connecting with the earth by climbing trees, watching cloud formations, looking for four leaf clovers, swimming, boating on the waterways in and around the Great Lake Erie, ice skating on backyard ice rinks, and making snow forts and snowmen. Her parents showed by their example of how to care for the earth and its' animals by tending to their respective gardens and nurturing stray or injured animals back to health. Family summer vacations were spent camping in forested areas of New York State where she hiked, learned the art of building campfires, interacted with curious raccoon, experienced the vastness of the night sky, and came to the pure realization that there is a beauty and spirit in all of everything in nature.
An adoptive parent, Spensien Inspired* was coined after Patricia's children's names as a reflection of her awe in the power of the universe in getting things just right, leading her to further grow spiritually in her awareness and experience that we are all one and intricately connected. This growth eventually led her to develop her practice to additionally include services for spiritual growth and healing. Forever growing as a therapist and as a person, she is guided to search for innovative ways to heal and inspire others in finding their own purpose, peace, path to living a meaningful life.
Patricia is a consultant for The Gow School in South Wales, NY, a private boarding school for students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. She is also a contracted therapy provider for Hillside Children's Center, Therapeutic Foster Care program. In addition to being a therapist, Patricia is a trained Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Master and a Shamanic practitioner and uses these spiritual healing methods, at times by themselves, together, or in conjunction with therapy, to enhance and expedite treatment progress.
She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Accreditation of Certified Social Workers, Families of FANA of WNY where she co chairs their Education and Support Committee, the International Center for Reiki Training, and is a member of the Circle of the Foundation of Shamanic Studies where she completed the Three-Year Program of Advanced Initiations in Shamanism and Shamanic Healing.

*Spensien Inspired is coined out of Patricia's love for her adopted children, Spencer and Siena, and in honor of the power of the universe in getting things just right. Following many years of yearning to be parents, Patricia and her husband made the decision to adopt their first child and a couple years later, their second. As fate would have it, all the stars in the universe aligned and each child was born one day prior to Patricia's and her husband's birthdays. Spencer was born on May 18th, the day before Patricia's birthday on May 19th. Imagine their surprise when they learned that Siena was born on December 18th, the day before her husband's birthday on December 19th. Patricia and her husband are to the day 2 years, 7 months apart in age, as are Spencer and Siena.
